Hello guys, in this article I am not going to tell you to open the WordPress panel and explain the WordPress options and where the Publish button is located. These things you can easily take when you are used to WordPress. Here I want to share basic but most important strategies where beginner bloggers make mistakes. Let’s not waste any more time and see how to publish the blog post in WordPress
Keyword research is the most important thing to do before you start writing content. Spend most of your time researching your blog keywords. You can take the help of tools available in the market like SEMrush, ahref, ubersuggest, etc. These tools facilitate our work by knowing the volume and difficulty of SEO (SD). I personally use the free version of ubersuggest.
Here, Volume means what is the monthly number of searches for the keyword in search engines (Google). The SEO difficulty is marked from 0 to 100, the higher the number, difficult to rank on Google, Bing, etc. Beginners should not blog in SD> 20.
Otherwise, your blog will not rank anywhere in the search engine query as there are already big dogs that have more domain authority than yours and you can’t beat them at an early stage.
As a beginner, you need to put ample time into Keyword research and find out the long-tail keywords for your blog with more volume and less SD.
Make the Title Unique
Once you have a topic along with new keywords. Work on your blog title, which is extremely important. If you use the same title as the others, you may not rank instead, but Google may look down on you. Make your title unique. You can use title generators like SEOPressor that can generate unique titles. Your title should contain the keyword that the search engines know about.
Set Permalink as Post Name
The permalink is the URL of your blog post. The URL is the created link that points to your blog. The link must be clean and presentable. This is also related to traffic. If your URL has the title of a blog that is more effective. Always set your permalink as the post name. It will help you drive traffic to your post.
Set Featured image- Alt Text
Always try to use feature images on your blog. A blog without images is not worth it. Readers may skip your article as it is too boring to read the continuous text. Images and videos add engagement to your blog. Beginners just put the images in the WordPress editor, which is wrong. Keep the following points in mind when it comes to images.
- Do not copy images from Google or other websites.
- Do not use copyrighted images. In case it does, try to give it an image credit or image source.
- Add the keyword in the Alt-Text field. Don’t leave it blank.
- Always use free stock images.
Tip: always compress images before using them in a blog. Bulky images can slow down your post, which can affect site users.
Interconnection is the important point here. You have linked related topics, which is known as interlinking. For eg. If you have written a post related to the Whatsapp topic and you already have another post with Whatsapp or Telegram, then they can interconnect with each other, which helps trackers to know that the topic is related to both posts.
Call to Action
Beginners mostly write their articles as essays. Instead, you need to ask, question your audience if they want to act, comment or suggest something. This is called a CTA (call to action). Don’t forget to ask them to follow you on social media.
